Live and work for five days at the gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Kumano Kodo!
Nachikatsuura Town is pleased to announce the Nachi-Katsuura Digital Nomad Retreat 2026, a five-day residential program for remote workers from Japan and abroad, to be held from December 7 to 11, 2026.
Begin your mornings with zazen meditation and a bell-ringing ceremony at Daitaiji, a 1,200-year-old Zen temple. Spend your days on focused work or walking to Nachi Falls and along the Kumano Kodo. In the evenings, share meals with fellow participants and local residents. The program also includes a sunrise tuna auction at Katsuura fishing port and a soak in a sea-cave hot spring.
Last year’s retreat (November 2025) welcomed 16 participants from 7 countries. We look forward to welcoming you to Nachi-Katsuura!
